Kuehn 41170 double-deckersteuerwagen, DR, Ep. V (mintgrün) Product Details
After the DR Reichsbahn initially had fixed-coupled articulated trains with double-deck cars in service, a new arrangement was made for practical reasons. The first series of double-deck single cars was delivered in 1974. Just five years later, these cars were repainted in "deer brown birch gray" - which earned them the nickname "mustard pots." These cars were also used in Berlin commuter service, where they received a red-beige paint scheme and their own nickname: "Sputnik".
