Pure steam nostalgia - LGB steam locomotive 798.101 "Nicki S." from SWEG
The LGB 24268 SWEG steam locomotive 798.101 is not only a technical model, but also a piece of living railroad history with a touching past. The locomotive, affectionately known as "Nicki S.", once ran on the romantic Jagsttalbahn in Baden-Württemberg and is now being brought back to life as a detailed 1:22.5 scale model. To mark the 125th anniversary of the Jagsttalbahn, this special model is being released with numerous technical highlights and a true-to-original design of Era IV.
A model with history
The history of this steam locomotive begins in 1941, when it was delivered to the Wehrmacht by Henschel under the designation HF 110 C 25982. After the war, it was taken over by the ÖBB before being rescued and lovingly refurbished by the Bielefeld entrepreneur Walter Seidensticker. He christened her "Nicki S." - in memory of his daughter. From 1984 onwards, the locomotive was a public favorite on the Jagsttalbahn and today runs on the Mühlenstroth small steam railroad as "Nicki and Frank S.".
True to the original in Era IV
The LGB model shows locomotive 798.101 in the paint scheme and lettering of the 1980s as it was used in the Jagst Valley. This realization in the style of Era IV impresses with numerous applied details and a particularly authentic look. The nostalgic effect is further enhanced by the precise reproduction of the tender.
Modern technology meets steam romance
The locomotive is powered by two powerful Bühler motors with ball bearings - one in the locomotive and one in the tender. Traction tires also ensure optimum traction. The built-in mfx/DCC decoder offers a variety of light and sound functions, including typical steam locomotive sounds, light changes and much more. An energy storage unit guarantees reliable operation even with brief power interruptions.
Smoke generator for realistic steam
A special highlight of this model is the integrated smoke generator with wheel-synchronized steam output. This creates a particularly realistic impression during operation, capturing the atmosphere of the steam locomotive era. The driver's cab doors can also be opened - another detail that collectors and model train enthusiasts will appreciate.
Dimensions and possible combinations
With a length over buffers of 52 cm, this model fits perfectly with all other LGB vehicles in the 1:22.5 scale. The matching cars 30142 and 33205 can be combined to create a train composition in true style - ideal for recreating the historic Jagst Valley Railroad scenery on your own layout.
