Märklin 00723-05 H0 Silo Wagon from the 00723 series, DB, Era IV, is a detailed model of a silo wagon designed for transporting fine-grained and powdery products such as aluminum hydroxide, sodium sulfate, quartz sand, cement, as well as foods like sugar or salt. These products are moisture-sensitive and are transported in containers equipped with filling and unloading facilities.

The Ucs 908, which was acquired in the 1950s and 1960s, is an example of such a wagon. Over 1,000 units were produced, each dedicated to a specific type of cargo – either chemical substances or food products. The wagons vary, for instance, by the presence or shape of a handbrake platform. Over the years, many of these wagons were rented or sold by DB to companies such as Eisenbahn-Verkehrsmittel A.G. (EVA) or Mitteldeutsche Eisenbahngesellschaft. The 8.54-meter-long wagons ran in mixed freight trains or as complete trains for specific customers.
