Märklin 37066 H0 Dampflok BR 80, DB, Ep. III, AC-MFX-Sound Product Details
Märklin 37066 H0 Class 80 Steam Locomotive, DB, AC MFX Sound - Era III Compact Classic
The Märklin 37066 represents a finely detailed class 80 tank locomotive as it was used on the German Federal Railroad around 1953. With its deep black paint scheme, the three characteristic boiler superstructures and numerous separately applied details, this model is a perfect addition to all Era III layouts. Equipped with the latest digital technology including mfx+ decoder and built-in smoke unit, this locomotive offers not only visual but also technical model railroad comfort.
Filigree design with high-quality metal construction
The locomotive is largely made of metal and is characterized by a filigree implementation. The unobstructed view between the frame and boiler as well as the open design of the driver's cab ensure an impressive closeness to the prototype. Numerous attached grab irons, lines and separately enclosed brake lines round off the appearance. The buffer height complies with the NEM standard and enables problem-free operation in combination with other vehicles.
Modern digital technology with mfx+ and Telex coupler
The locomotive is equipped with an mfx+ decoder and offers extensive operating and sound functions, including steam locomotive sound, chimes and more. A highlight is the digitally switchable Telex coupling at the front and rear, which enables realistic coupling and uncoupling processes in digital operation - ideal for shunting scenes. The built-in buffer storage unit ensures uninterrupted operation for short sections of track without power.
Smoke, light and sound for real steam locomotive operation
For the first time, a smoke unit is fitted as standard in this model, which is automatically active in conventional operation and can be switched separately in digital mode. The lighting is provided by maintenance-free warm white LEDs, with the two-light headlights changing depending on the direction of travel. This makes every run a realistic experience.
Short, maneuverable locomotive for versatile application scenarios
With its compact length of just 11.1 cm, the BR 80 is perfect for small stations, industrial facilities or as a shunting locomotive on branch lines. Three axles powered and a controlled high-performance drive with flywheel mass in the boiler ensure reliable running characteristics even at low speeds.
