The "German Crocodile" - Märklin H0 DB class E 94 electric locomotive
With the Märklin 39993 class E 94 electric locomotive, you can bring a real legend of post-war German freight train operation to your model railroad layout. This powerful model in a chrome oxide green paint scheme represents the locomotive with the road number E 94 026 in operating condition around 1964 - a must for all fans of heavy electric locomotives and Era III enthusiasts.
The prototype - The "Crocodile" of Germany
The E 94 was the backbone of electric freight traffic on the German Federal Railroad. Its striking shape earned it the nickname "German Crocodile" - in reference to the famous Swiss prototypes. The prototype reproduced here had six sandboxes on each side, a roof extension and the typical heavy running gear - ideal for tough use on steep ramps and in heavy train service.
Technically and visually at the top level
The model impresses with its controlled high-performance drive with flywheel, which is installed centrally and drives two axles per driving gear. The locomotive is equipped with an mfx+ decoder and offers extensive sound and light functions. These include a three-light headlights dependent on the direction of travel, red marker lights, separately switchable cab lighting and a digitally switchable starting light. The LEDs provide a warm white, realistic light image.
Detailed design with many extras
The E 94 026 scores points with numerous applied details such as metal grab irons, a detailed relief interior in the driver's cabs and the engine room as well as enclosed brake hoses and imitation screw couplings for optional retrofitting. A buffer tank ensures trouble-free operation even during short power interruptions.
Prototypical and ready for use
With a length over buffers of 21.4 cm, the locomotive fits perfectly into typical Era III train formations. Its powerful tractive force makes it ideal for long freight trains on main and branch lines. Thanks to digital interfaces, the model can be flexibly integrated into existing layouts.
Scope of delivery
The scope of delivery includes the ready-to-run electric locomotive E 94 026 with mfx+ digital decoder, LED lighting, extensive sound functions, buffer storage as well as attached grab irons and enclosed accessories.
