Description

Märklin 46014 H0 Hochbordwagen Omm37, DB, Ep. III Product Details

Heavy Metal for the Blast Furnace – Märklin H0 Omm 37 High-Side Freight Car of the DB

With the Märklin 46014 Omm 37 high-side freight car, you can add a sturdy classic from the Deutsche Bundesbahn’s freight car fleet to your H0 layout. In its reddish-brown color scheme and with an authentic load of scrap iron, this car represents a typical freight vehicle from the mid-1950s onward—ideal for industrial trains and blast furnace scenarios.

The Prototype—The Omm 37 in Service

The Omm 37 was a common open high-sided freight car in the DB fleet and was used to transport bulk goods, scrap metal, coal, or scrap. Thanks to its sturdy construction, it was ideally suited for heavy industrial goods. For decades, these cars were a familiar sight at many switching yards and blast furnace access tracks.

Model with Realistic Load

The car features a detailed truss structure and is loaded with realistically reproduced scrap iron—ready for immediate use in a blast furnace train or in transfer traffic. Its compact length over buffers of 11.5 cm makes it versatile even on small layouts.

Prepared for DC systems

The car is designed for the Märklin AC system but can also be used on DC layouts with the separately available E700580 DC wheel set.

Ideal Combinations

Pairs perfectly with the BR 80 steam locomotive (Item No. 37066) and other blast furnace-themed freight cars such as 46047, 46146, 46221, and 48678. For an authentic industrial setting, we also recommend the Faller Blast Furnace 2 kit (80th-anniversary model celebrating 80 years of Faller).

Contents

Included is a DB Omm 37 high-sided freight car with bracing and a load of scrap iron. DC wheel set E700580 sold separately.
