The Märklin 46047 boxcar set brings authentic rail freight traffic of the 1950s to your H0 layout. The five short high side cars of the types O11 or O Nürnberg of the German Federal Railroad appear in operating condition around 1954 - including a realistically aged look, fine detailing, and a real load of coal. An ideal set for blast furnace themed trains and authentic freight traffic scenes of Era III.

The prototype - coal for the steel industry

Coal wagons like these were the backbone of the supply of the blast furnaces in Germany. The O11 and O Nürnberg wagon types stood for high transportation performance over short distances. Their compact dimensions and robust construction made them the standard on many connecting railroads, especially in the Ruhr area.

Model with authentic aging and real coal

All of the wagons in the set are color-aged for a realistic appearance. The attached coal loads are made of real, fine-grained coal material - for maximum realism. Two wagons also have an attached brakeman's cab and all have a separately attached handbrake platform. Each model is individually packaged and additionally secured in practical outer packaging.

Ideal for blast furnace scenarios

The cars can be perfectly combined with other blast furnace-related models from the Märklin program - such as the 46014, 46146, 46221, 48678 high side car or the matching class 80 steam locomotive (item no. 37066). Faller's blast furnace 2 (anniversary model for the 80th anniversary) is also recommended for a suitable industrial environment.

Technology & compatibility

The set is designed for Märklin AC layouts, but can also be used on DC layouts with the separately available E700580 DC wheel set. The total car length over buffers is approx. 38.5 cm.
