Description

Märklin 47407 H0 Güterwagen-Set "Rollende Straße", RAlpin AG, Ep. VI Product Details

Märklin 47407 H0 Freight Car Set "Rolling Road", RAlpin AG, Ep. VI

The Märklin 47407 H0 boxcar set represents two type Saadkmms low-floor freight cars from RAlpin AG. These cars are specially designed for transit traffic on the "Rolling Highway" where complete freight trains are transported on the rails in an environmentally friendly manner. With high-quality metal construction and extensive equipment, this set is a must for model railroaders who want to realistically recreate modern freight traffic.

Prototype and use

RAlpin AG, based in Olten, operates the "Rolling Road" for international transit traffic. Trucks with drivers are loaded onto low-floor wagons and transported over the Alps by rail. This form of operation has been an important part of combined transport in Switzerland for many years and is a prime example of modern logistics solutions. The model reflects the operating status as of 2018 in a quartz gray basic color scheme.

Model highlights

The wagons are made of metal and are therefore extremely stable and true to the prototype. Both models have two swivel and removable buffer beams. Holding wedges for truck models are included as well as special couplings for use with the low-floor wagons. A special short coupling also allows coupling with vehicles that have a lower buffer height. This means that the set can be integrated into existing train sets in a variety of ways.

Technical features

The two wagons are individually packaged and also protected in sturdy outer packaging. The total length over buffers is approx. 44.6 cm. A DC wheel set (E432950) is available for use on DC layouts. This means that the cars can be used universally and are technically reliable.

Use on the model railroad

This set can be used to create realistic Era VI freight trains that impressively reproduce transalpine transit traffic. Whether as a stand-alone train or in combination with other Saadkmms type cars - the "Rolling Road" brings a modern and at the same time environmentally conscious element to any model railroad layout.
