Märklin 48480 H0 Set of 5 VTG Gas Tank Cars - Era IV
The Märklin 48480 set includes five four-axle pressurized gas tank cars from the private car companies VTG Vereinigte Tanklager und Transportmittel GmbH, Hamburg, and Eva Eisenbahn-Verkehrsmittel AG, Düsseldorf. The cars are painted and lettered around 1984 and are an authentic reproduction of Era IV. Three of the five wagons are slightly aged to represent realistic use in everyday model railroading, while two wagons are delivered without aging.
Product details & technical specifications
Each wagon is approx. 18 cm long over buffers and has Minden-Siegen type bogies. The bogies are richly detailed with openwork frames and many applied details that emphasize the high quality of the model. The gas tank cars are designed both with and without a sun canopy and have different car numbers. The wheelsets are type E700580 DC wheelsets. The cars are individually packaged and are supplied in additional outer packaging. The set is designed for the 3-wire alternating current system (AC).
Design & workmanship
The model is characterized by its high-quality and detailed workmanship. The combination of cars with and without sun canopies as well as the different aging of the cars ensures a varied and realistic appearance. The colour scheme and lettering of the VTG and Eva Eisenbahn-Verkehrsmittel AG private carriages are true to the original and convey an authentic image of the period of operation.
Technical features & special features
The cars are equipped with NEM coupling shafts with close coupler kinematics (KK kinematics), which makes safe and realistic coupling possible. The detailed bogies of the Minden-Siegen design and the precise realization of the boiler superstructures underline the high quality standards. The light aging of three cars provides a realistic look in model railroad operation.
Scope of delivery
The set contains five four-axle gas tank wagons, three of which are slightly aged, two without ageing, all individually packaged with additional outer packaging.
