Description

Märklin 55252 electric locomotive BR 151, DB Product Details

As the last new DB development of six-axle electric locomotives, Krupp, Henschel, Krauss-Maffei, AEG, Siemens and BBC produced a total of 170 class 151 locomotives by 1977, which were initially used throughout Germany and in some cases even in front of passenger trains. From the 151 076 onwards, they all shone in the new ocean blue/ivory color scheme and the 151 073 was also delivered in this color. Between 1976 and 1981, the 151 089-099 and 114-122 received an automatic coupler ("Unicupler") and then ran for many years mostly in double traction in front of heavy ore trains on the Hamburg - Beddingen (5,700 t), Venlo - Dillingen (5,130 t) and Moers - Linz (3,220 t) routes.
