Märklin 81195 Z train pack Züricher S-Bahn, SBB, Ep. VI Product Details
Märklin 81195 Zurich S-Bahn Train Set: Modern SBB Era VI S-Bahn Set
With the Märklin 81195 train set, you can get the modern Zurich S-Bahn of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) on your Z-gauge layout. This set reproduces the Re 420 electric locomotive and the double-decker cars from the LION modernization project in the current Era VI operating condition.
The prototype: Zurich S-Bahn of the SBB
The Zurich S-Bahn is one of the best developed S-Bahn systems in Europe. As part of the LION modernization project, the Re 420 electric locomotive was adapted for use with double-decker coaches in the HVZ fleet. The train composition comprises the Re 420 locomotive, a 2nd class double-decker coach, a 1st/2nd class double-decker coach and a 2nd class double-decker DBZplus Bt control car. This set reflects the current operating condition of the S-Bahn.
Detailed and high-quality realization
The models impress with their technical sophistication and detailed workmanship:
- Re 420 electric locomotive: Equipped with a bell-type armature motor and drive on all axles. Lighting with warm white LEDs and prototypical Swiss light change (3 x white at the front, 1 x white at the right rear). Movable rail clearers on both bogies. The power can be switched between overhead and underground.
- Double-decker cars: One 2nd class car, one 1st/2nd class car, and one 2nd class double-decker cab control car with detailed lettering and realistic light changes. The cab control car shows a white triple headlights when the locomotive is pushing and two red marker lights when the locomotive is pulling.
With a total length over buffers of approx. 443 mm, the set represents an impressive train composition.
Possible combinations and use
The set is perfect for use on modern Z-gauge layouts that represent regional S-Bahn traffic in Switzerland. The realistic design and versatile lighting functions make the set the highlight of any layout.
Conclusion: Modern technology meets Swiss precision
The Märklin 81195 Zurich S-Bahn train set combines the latest technology with prototypical implementation and offers a realistic driving experience. It is the ideal addition for model railroaders who want to recreate Era VI Swiss regional traffic.
