Description

Märklin 88801 Z diesel locomotive V 80 Museum, DB, Ep. III Product Details

Märklin 88801 - Z Diesel locomotive V 80 002 "Museum", DB (Era III)

With the Märklin 88801 locomotive, you can present a real piece of museum history on your Z scale layout: the German Railroad multi-purpose diesel locomotive V 80 002 as it was exhibited in the DB Museum in Nuremberg in 2000. With its shiny red basic paint scheme and typical lamp arrangement - one single lamp at the top, two double lamps at the bottom - this model is reminiscent of the elegant technology of the post-war era.

This exclusive model not only impresses with its historical significance, but also with modern drive technology, high-quality workmanship and a stylish presentation concept - delivered in an elegant real wood box.

Technical details & features

The locomotive is equipped with the latest generation of the bell-type armature motor, which ensures particularly smooth running and high reliability. All axles are driven, the running gear consists of a stable combination of metal and plastic, the body is made of finely detailed plastic.

The three-light headlights change depending on the direction of travel and are realized using warm white LEDs. Dark nickel-plated wheel rims, enlarged metal buffer plates and the detailed reproduction of the driver's cab equipment round off the overall technical picture. The model is approx. 58 mm long (over buffers).

Design & true to the prototype

The museum locomotive was reproduced according to the exhibition condition of 2000 and has all the characteristic features of the Era III-V transitional period. The combination of precise paintwork, typical lighting and high-quality presentation makes it a highlight of any collection.
