Schönmühlen is a layout in the popular medium size with an interesting track section that runs over 2 bridges and through 2 tunnels. Its special charm comes from a charming small town with a church, railroad station and goods shed as well as a small lake and a country road with an ungated level crossing. The special eye-catcher, however, is a functioning watermill whose water wheel is driven by a water circuit with pump. In addition, 2 traction circuits, sidings and a passing siding allow for varied railroad operation.
