PIKO 21027 - H0 Class 181 electric locomotive, ČD, Era V

With the Piko 21027, PIKO presents a powerful and delicately realized electric locomotive of the class 181 of the Czech Railways (ČD) for epoch V. The locomotive is based on the proven E 669.1, which formed the backbone of heavy freight traffic under direct current in the former Czechoslovakia from the 1960s.

Originally built by Škoda in Pilsen for ČSD, a total of 150 locomotives of this six-axle series were used from 1961 - specially designed to haul heavy freight trains without double traction. After the division of the country in 1993, the series was continued at ČD as the 181 series. Individual units are still in use as push-pull locomotives at ČD Cargo today.

Digitally prepared & sound-capable

The model has an NEM 658 PluX22 digital interface and is fully prepared for retrofitting with a sound decoder and loudspeaker (e.g. PIKO #56645). Thanks to this modern equipment, the model is ideal for both analog and digital use.

Lighting & digital functions

A white/red light change depending on the direction of travel is available as standard. In addition, the cab and engine room lighting can be switched digitally after installing a decoder. The illuminated driver's desk gives the model an authentic effect, especially when driving at night.

Detailing & equipment

The locomotive impresses with two filigree metal scissor pantographs, a realistically reproduced roof garden, rail scrapers and a detailed interior of the driver's cabs and engine room. The engravings on the body are finely executed and give the model a prototypical appearance.

Technology & compatibility

With a length over buffers of 216 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the model can be used on all standard H0 layouts without any problems. NEM shafts with close coupler link enable safe coupling with all compatible vehicles.

Scope of delivery

The Piko 21027 electric locomotive BR 181 ČD is supplied in a DC version, ready for operation in analog mode and prepared for digital retrofitting. Instructions and all necessary technical information are included.
