Piko 21046 H0 E-Lok Rh 1067 orange, ÖBB, Ep. IV, AC-Sound Product Details
PIKO 21046 - H0 Rh 1067 electric locomotive, ÖBB, Era IV, orange, AC sound
The Piko 21046 is the AC sound version of the extraordinary Rh 1067 electric locomotive of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). Only five examples of this special class with electro-hydraulic drive were built between 1961 and 1994 - real rarities in the ÖBB fleet. The model shows the locomotive in its characteristic blood orange paint scheme of Era IV.
Built by Jenbacher Werke and equipped with a central driver's cab, the locomotives were mainly used for shunting services. The design was based on diesel locomotives, which, together with the innovative but fragile drive concept, prevented series production. Today, two of these locomotives are preserved in museums - a rare chapter in Austrian railroad history that PIKO has now reproduced in great detail.
Digital & sound for alternating current
The locomotive is factory-equipped with a PIKO PluX22 sound decoder - including PIKO TrainSound® onboard. The AC version is ideal for Märklin drivers and offers a realistic sound image with original sounds such as locomotive motor, brakes, fan and shunting noises.
Lighting & digital light functions
The model has a three-light headlights with red marker lights that change over with the direction of travel in analog operation and can be switched in digital operation. Additional functions such as shunting light, front and rear lighting that can be switched off and driver's desk lighting (analog active, digitally controllable) ensure maximum operational reality.
Design with attention to detail
The metal scissor pantograph without visible screws, the detailed cooling system with free-standing fan wheel, the filigree running gear with add-on parts and a detailed interior in the driver's cab make the locomotive a real eye-catcher - both in operation and in the display case.
Technology & presentation
With a clearance of 121 mm, the locomotive is suitable for all H0 layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm. The NEM shaft with close coupler link ensures reliable coupling. For collectors and exhibitors, a track replica with accessories (brake lines, coupling hooks, covers) is included for presentation.
