PIKO 21062 - H0 Class 119 (E 19) electric locomotive, DB, Era IV, with sound

With the Piko 21062, PIKO brings one of the most elegant express locomotives in Germany to the H0 tracks in a digital sound version: the class E 19, operated by the Deutsche Bundesbahn as BR 119. The prototype was built in the late 1930s for the high-speed traffic of the Deutsche Reichsbahn with target speeds of up to 200 km/h. The locomotive was in service with the DB in Era IV before the last locomotive, E 19 002, was taken out of service in 1978.

PIKO has perfectly reproduced this locomotive in the DB version of the 1970s with all of the visual and technical details of Era IV - including handle lamps, SBS 39/54 pantographs and typical equipment such as UIC sockets, centrifugal governors, sandboxes and battery boxes.

Digital & sound ex works

The locomotive is equipped ex works with a PluX22 sound decoder and PIKO TrainSound® onboard. It offers a realistic sound image with traction motor noises, fan, compressor, brakes and other functions - perfectly controllable via DCC command stations. The driver's cab and control panel lighting can also be controlled digitally.

Visual highlights & depth of detail

The body features fine handles, separately attached windshield wipers, insulators and roof lines. The pantographs of type SBS 39/54 are delicately crafted, the printing is razor-sharp and prototypical. The axle bearing covers and centrifugal governor have also been separately applied.

Technology & compatibility

With a length of 195 mm over buffers and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive can be used on all standard H0 layouts. The NEM shaft with close coupler link ensures safe coupling. Two traction tires support traction in train operation.
