With the Piko Rh 240 ČD Cargo in the AC sound version, PIKO brings a powerful-sounding representative of Eastern European railroad technology to your AC system. Equipped with a factory-installed PluX22 sound decoder and mfx® compatibility, this model not only provides realistic sound, but also maximum operational reliability and digital comfort for Märklin fans.

Technology & sound - digital and ready for immediate use

The integrated mfx®-compatible sound decoder provides sounds that are true to the original. The model has two finely worked metal pantographs, transparent skylights in the engine room and a detailed reproduction of the bogies. The cab, engine room and console lighting can be controlled digitally using the PluX22 decoder.

Prototype: S 499 - a classic with a fiberglass body

The Škoda locomotives produced as the S 499 are among the most characteristic vehicles of ČSD and today's ČD Cargo. The fiberglass-reinforced locomotive body, the rounded driver's cabs and the large windows make these machines unmistakable. The Rh 240 is still in use today in freight train services across the Czech Republic.

Compatibility & possible uses

Perfect for Märklin-compatible H0 layouts: The model runs on all track systems with a minimum radius of 358 mm. Thanks to the NEM shaft with close coupler link, the locomotive can be flexibly integrated into modern freight trains. The light changes in white/red depending on the direction of travel - for realistic day and night operation.
