With the Piko 21780, the manufacturer presents another print version of the DB AG BR 114 electric locomotive - this time in the traffic red livery of Era VI and including a factory-fitted sound decoder. This modern locomotive stands for current regional traffic in Germany and can be seen in daily use on numerous commuter routes. Now PIKO is bringing this prototype to the H0 model railroad layout as a fully equipped sound model.

The locomotive is ideal for model railroaders who want to enrich their layout with a powerful-sounding and visually realistic vehicle from modern rail operations. Digital technology & sound equipment

The locomotive is factory-equipped with a PluX22 sound decoder and designed for 2-wire DC operation. The integrated loudspeaker provides realistic locomotive sounds such as traction motor humming, brake squeal or signal horn - perfectly tuned for digital model railroad operation. The sound functions can be conveniently controlled via the digital central unit.

Modern lighting & additional digital functions

A highlight of the Piko 21780 is the digitally switchable driver's cab lighting (when used with a decoder), which together with the direction-dependent light change in white/red creates a realistic appearance. The LED technology ensures low-maintenance operation and high luminosity - both when the locomotive is running and when it is stationary in the station.

Dimensions & operating characteristics

With a length over buffers of 191 mm, the model is suitable for use on all standard H0 track systems. It can handle radii from 358 mm and is equipped with an NEM shaft and close coupler link - ideal for push-pull operation in local traffic. Two traction tires ensure safe power transmission to the tracks.
