PIKO 24548 - H0 Stake wagon ex Ulm, DB, Era IV (without platform)

The Piko 24548 is a new printed version of the classic stake wagon ex Ulm in the German Federal Railroad version for Era IV. This version without a brakeman's platform has a robust look and is highly detailed - perfect for authentic freight trains of the 1970s.

The "Ulm" type was a widely used flat wagon with stanchions for transporting long timber, steel profiles, pipes or other bulky goods. In Era IV, it characterized numerous freight trains of the DB - especially in domestic traffic. The model presented here does not have a platform and thus reproduces a typical series version without a brakeman's seat.

Attention to detail & equipment

The model impresses with its fine engravings, true-to-scale reproduction of the wagon body and a clear view of the interior thanks to the flush-mounted side walls. Brake hoses and coupling hooks for optional retrofitting are included in the scope of delivery - for even more faithful representation on your layout.

Running characteristics & compatibility

With a length over buffers of 139 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the car is suitable for operation on all standard H0 layouts. The NEM shafts with close coupler link ensure a secure connection to other wagons. The very good running characteristics ensure smooth operation even in long freight trains.

AC operation possible

For Märklin users, the model can be converted with the PIKO #56061 exchange wheel set - this allows the car to be used in AC train sets without any problems.

The scope of delivery includes the PIKO 24548 stake car ex Ulm without platform, instructions and accessories (brake hoses, coupling hooks) for individual design. The car is ready for operation in the DC system.
