With the Piko 24550, PIKO brings a modern model of the DB CargoTaoos894 potash wagon in Era VI to the H0 layout. The prototype was created from the earlier Uaoos wagons and modernized in large numbers by DB AG - ideal for bulk goods transport in block trains, as can still be seen regularly today.

DB AG converted around 360 wagons of the Uaoos type into Taoos894 potash wagons. They are typically used in long block trains with 20-25 units and are used to transport potash fertilizer. The uniform red color scheme according to DB Cargo specifications and the clearly structured, maintenance-friendly design also make these wagons an attractive highlight in the model.

Model highlights & faithfulness to the prototype

The model is painted in typical Era VI livery with DB Cargo logo and finely applied lettering. The detailed design with clean engraving of the superstructure, load covers and running gear details underlines the professional character of this model. It is ideal for realistic block train representations of modern freight railroads.

Technology & running characteristics

With a length over buffers of 184 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the wagon can be used on all standard H0 layouts. Thanks to the NEM shaft with close coupler link, the wagon can be coupled to other freight wagons without any problems - even in dense train formations. The very good rolling characteristics ensure reliable operation, even with long block trains.
