With the Piko 24558, PIKO presents a compact silo wagon from Mitteldeutsche Eisenbahn GmbH (MEG), which is specially designed for the transportation of brake sand. This H0 model is a realistic detail for modern track construction site, works and maintenance trains of Era VI.

As a private railroad company, the MEG is an active part of current rail freight traffic - this car brings exactly this flair to the model railroad layout. Robust design & precise workmanship

The wagon is equipped with numerous fine details - including silo outlets, ladders, grab handles and brake markings. Despite its compact length of just 99 mm, it offers excellent rolling characteristics and can be easily integrated into modern freight trains.

Technology & compatibility

The wagon has an NEM shaft for coupling installation, but is not equipped with a close coupler link - ideal for narrow track radii or shunting operations. The minimum radius is 358 mm, which guarantees compatibility with almost all H0 layouts.
