PIKO 28331 - H0 Set of 2 Kmm hinged lid wagons, DR, Era IV

The Piko 28331 set brings two typical German State Railroad (DR)Kmm hinged lid cars in the Era IV version to the H0 tracks. These two-axle wagons were an integral part of bulk goods traffic - e.g. for lime, ore or coal - and are ideal for realistic train compositions in the DR's middle operating period.

The model set includes two wagons with different wagon numbers and impresses with its finely detailed bogies, sharply contoured printing and excellent rolling characteristics. The filigree realization makes the set an ideal addition for freight trains or shunting scenes of Era IV.

Typical GDR freight traffic

Hinged lid wagons such as these were often used in domestic traffic in the GDR and in the Eastern Bloc for bulk goods. The characteristic lids made it possible to load from above and unload from below. They also fit seamlessly into realistic operating scenarios on model railway layouts.

Technology & compatibility

The wagons are each 105 mm long (together 210 mm) and suitable for a minimum radius of 358 mm. Thanks to the NEM shaft with close coupler link, they can be flexibly combined with other cars. AC wheel sets (item no. 56060) are available for AC systems.
