With the Piko 37511 diesel locomotive 218 497-6, PIKO is bringing a very special highlight to the G-gauge tracks: The locomotive is the result of a unique joint project between the model railway manufacturers PIKO and Märklin - both logos adorn the front of this impressive locomotive. The original was designed as part of a creative competition among employees of DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung (FZI) Cottbus and symbolizes the technical development of the site - from steam locomotive maintenance to the maintenance of modern ICE multiple units.

The 1:22.5 scale model has an eye-catching special paint scheme: one half is light gray with the Märklin logo, the other half is black with the PIKO logo. This design has also been implemented exactly in the model. The locomotive is designed for direct current operation and has a digital interface for the retrofittable PIKO G sound decoder (#36191 + #36123). It is also equipped with direction-dependent light change (white/white) and, thanks to its length over buffers of 615 mm, makes an impressive appearance on any garden railway layout.

The 218 497-6 diesel locomotive is perfect as an eye-catcher in modern Era VI scenarios or as a rolling symbol of the cooperation between two traditional model railroad manufacturers. The minimum radius is 600 mm, which means that the locomotive can be used flexibly on standard G track systems.
