Historical background
The class 62 was built by Henschel in 1928 as a fast tender locomotive for passenger service - only 15 units in total. After the war, some of them were transferred to the Deutsche Reichsbahn in the GDR and were used there until the 1970s. The locomotive with the rare axle arrangement 2'C2' is a prime example of technical diversity in steam locomotive construction in the interwar period.
Compatibility & expansion options
The locomotive is fully compatible with Märklin AC systems and is an excellent match for historic DR train sets in Era IV. Thanks to PluX22 digital technology, it can be integrated into any modern digital control system and offers a real highlight in layout operation thanks to the vaporizer.
