The Piko H0 sound steam locomotive TKt48 of the PKP is a real highlight for friends of Eastern European steam operation. The tender locomotives of the TKt48 series were manufactured in Poland between 1950 and 1957 and were indispensable on the low mountain lines in the Giant Mountains and the High Tatras for decades. This new 2025 model comes with a factory-integrated sound decoder and steam generator - fully digitally controllable for modern model railroad operation.

Fully equipped for demanding digital railroaders

The locomotive is equipped with digitally switchable cab lighting, running gear lighting and firebox flickering. The PIKO TrainSound® decoder provides realistic sound effects, while the factory-fitted steam generator ensures atmospheric steam output. Further features: Wind deflectors, flat cab ventilation, die-cast zinc wheels, fine brake linkage and an open, detailed driver's cab.

The TKt48 - the backbone of the PKP's mountain traffic

With 80 km/h in both directions and high tractive power, the TKt48 became the universal solution for passenger and freight trains on demanding branch lines. Its service ended in 1989, but over a dozen locomotives were preserved as museum locomotives - a worthy role model for this impressive model.

Digital operation with high precision

The model is based on the PluX16 digital standard and can be fully controlled via a digital control center. All light functions as well as sound and steam can be controlled individually. The light changes in white/reddepending on the direction of travel.
