Historical background
The locomotives of the TKt48 series were built from 1950 especially for use on mountain branch lines. With 80 km/h in both directions and a high friction weight, they were perfect for gradients in the Krkonoše Mountains and the Tatra Mountains. In service until 1989, many machines were scrapped - some survived as museum vehicles and monuments.
Compatibility & expansion options
The locomotive is compatible with all common H0 track systems (2L-DC) and can be easily digitized thanks to the PluX22 interface. Ideal for model railroaders who want to depict realistic Eastern European operating situations - whether on branch lines, in mountain traffic or in local traffic.
