The PIKO 50766 brings the striking TKt48 tank locomotive of the Polish State Railways (PKP) to the H0 model railroad layout in an authentic Era III version. This strongly shaped locomotive was an indispensable part of train operation in the mountain regions of Poland from the 1950s to the 1980s - especially on branch lines in the Giant Mountains and in the High Tatras.

Historical role model for heavy-duty operations

Built between 1950 and 1957 by Fablok and Cegielski, a total of 191 machines were delivered to the PKP. Their high friction mass and the ability to travel at up to 80 km/h in both directions made them the ideal universal locomotive in the low mountain ranges. This model faithfully reflects the period of use in the 1950s and 60s - ideal for Era III fans with a focus on realistic operating scenarios.

The locomotive has a digital interface in accordance with NEM 658 (PluX22) and is therefore ready for simple retrofitting of a PIKO sound decoder (item no. 56641). Modern LED technology is used for the direction of travel-dependent light change in white/red. Two traction tires provide reliable traction in daily operation - even with heavy train loads.
