With the Piko 52617 BR 221 diesel locomotive, you can bring one of the most striking machines of the German Federal Railroad to your H0 model railway layout. The locomotive is presented in the popular blue/beige color scheme of Era IV and as a design variant without ornamental strips - a realistic implementation for the demanding model railroader.
Prototypical design without decorative strips
The class 221, a further development of the legendary V200, was used in heavy freight and passenger train services and had a significant influence on the image of the DB in the 1970s. This model variant without decorative strips reflects the visual development of the locomotive in later years of use. PIKO has implemented the proportions and color scheme excellently - for a harmonious overall picture on every Era IV layout.
Digital interface and lighting functions
Equipped with a PluX22 interface, the locomotive is ready for simple digitization.
