As an Expert model, the new shape of the PIKO 102.1 was given a motor with a precisely balanced flywheel. The automatic white/red light change depending on the direction of travel is combined with the ability to switch off the red "tail light" separately. "tail light" can be switched off separately. The cab lighting allows prototypical night operation. The model is equipped with a PluX22 interface for digital operation. Free-standing grab irons and and metal railings produced using an elaborate etching technique complete the sophisticated appearance of the PIKO model.
