The PIKO 58474 is a finely detailed model of a Polish State Railways (PKP) type 401Ka high-capacity freight wagon in Era V. With a realistic reproduction of the sides and doors, separately mounted handrails and detailed bogies, this wagon impresses with its visual quality and excellent running characteristics - perfect for realistic freight train compositions in H0 scale.
Prototype: Heavy load transport on the PKP
Large-capacity freight cars such as the 401Ka were used by the PKP in Era V for the transportation of bulky and voluminous goods. Due to their massive construction, long loading length and stable bogies, they were particularly suitable for industrial freight such as machine components, assemblies or wood products. The PIKO model reflects the robust and functional construction of the prototype with high precision.
Technology and equipment
With a running length of 190 mm and equipped with an NEM shaft and close coupler link, the car can be used reliably on all direct current systems. The free-standing handrails, neatly engraved sides and the true-to-scale bogies ensure an authentic appearance in the train formation. The model is not intended for AC operation.
