The PIKO 59169 is a finely detailed replica of the Dutch class 6400 diesel locomotive in the Railion Logistics NL design, built in Era VI. The model is based on the proven MaK G 1206, a diesel-hydraulic locomotive with high performance, robust construction and flexible application possibilities in heavy shunting and mainline service. Equipped with a sound decoder at the factory, this model offers an authentic driving experience in AC digital operation.

Prototype: MaK G 1206 - Powerhouse in European freight traffic

The MaK G 1206 was originally developed by Maschinenbau Kiel and continued to be built after it was taken over by Vossloh. Its B'B' axle arrangement, an output of up to 1570 kW and a top speed of 100 km/h make it the ideal workhorse for industry, port traffic and international freight connections. Railion Logistics NL uses the 6400 for cross-border transportation in the Netherlands, among other things.

Model technology and equipment

The model features finely engraved details, precisely reproduced fan grilles, bogies and a realistic roof section. A fitted driver's cab enhances the visual effect. The factory-installed PIKO sound decoder provides prototypical background noise. The model has an 8-pole decoder (NEM 652), two traction tires and a light change in white/red depending on the direction of travel. The locomotive is designed for the AC system and is compatible with NEM shaft couplers (without close coupler link).
