The Piko 59726 BR 220 diesel locomotive is a successful replica of the striking Bundesbahn diesel locomotive from Era IV. This print variant impresses with its prototypical implementation and is a real highlight for all model railroaders who want to realistically represent the classic appearance of the German Federal Railroad on their layouts.
Typical appearance of the 1970s
The BR 220 - formerly the V 200 - is a symbol of the heavy diesel operation of the 1960s and 1970s in West Germany. With its powerful front, clear design and characteristic twin-engine look, it was widely used in heavy passenger and freight train service. PIKO has realized this 1:87 scale model with great attention to detail.
The locomotive impresses with clean printing, harmonious coloring and a dynamic silhouette. The solid mechanical construction with two traction tires ensures excellent traction performance - ideal for use in longer train sets.
Technically prepared for the future
