Description

Roco 6600016 H0 3er Set Schwerlastwagen with Ladegut, NS, Ep. III Product Details

Roco 6600016 H0 Set of 3 NS heavy-duty wagons: Robust freight wagons for heavy loads in Era III

The Roco 6600016 H0 wagon set consists of three class S heavy goods wagons from the Dutch State Railways (NS). These models are ideal for transporting heavy goods and are an excellent addition to Era III freight trains.

The prototype: Class S heavy goods wagons

Heavy goods wagons were specially developed for the transportation of oversized and heavy goods such as machines, steel girders or other bulky loads. Their robust construction and high load capacity made them an indispensable part of railroad freight transport. In the 1950s and 1960s, heavy-duty wagons such as the S class were widely used and played an important role in the economic upturn after the Second World War.

The railroad company: Dutch State Railways (NS)

The NS was one of the leading railroad companies in Europe in Era III. Its modern freight wagons, including the heavy goods wagons shown here, were suitable for international transportation and ensured smooth handling of the growing freight flows.

Era III: Growth and reconstruction

Era III (1945-1970) was a time of reconstruction and economic growth. During this time, rail freight transport was greatly expanded and heavy goods wagons such as the class S played a key role in coping with the increasing transport requirements.

Color scheme and design

The wagon set is designed in the typical colors and with the markings of the Dutch State Railways. The heavy goods wagons are faithfully reproduced and equipped with loads, making them an eye-catcher on any model railway layout. With an overall length over buffers of 372 mm, the wagons are perfect for realistic heavy goods trains.

Recommended purchase for model railroaders

The Roco 6600016 H0 set of 3 heavy goods wagons is an ideal choice for model railroaders who want to recreate freight trains with a special focus on heavy loads. The robust construction, the detailed design and the versatility of this set make it a highlight for Era III layouts.
