With the Roco 6600229 you get an authentic set of 3 freight wagons from the Italian State Railways (FS) from Era III. This set brings Italian flair to your H0 model railroad and is ideal for realistically depicting typical branch line freight trains from the 1950s and 1960s. The wagons are detailed and prototypically labeled, making them attractive both for operation and for the display case.

Prototype and use

The Italian State Railways (FS) used numerous different types of freight cars in Era III, which were also indispensable on branch lines. Whether in rural areas or in an industrial environment - branch line freight trains formed the backbone of freight traffic. This set can be used to assemble typical trains as they were commonplace on Italian branch lines.

Composition of wagons

The set includes three different types of freight wagon to ensure varied operation:

• Tank wagon
• Wine tank wagon, class Mv
• Pointed roof wagon, type FF

This combination covers various transportation tasks - from transporting liquids to general cargo - and thus recreates a typical branch line freight train of Era III.

Model realization

The wagons are finely detailed and have prototypical lettering. Engravings, lettering and designs have been carefully implemented and convey a realistic picture of Italian freight traffic in the post-war period. With an overall length of 328 mm over buffers, the set fits perfectly in H0 freight trains and ensures varied train formations.

Technical features

All of the cars are equipped with coupler pockets in accordance with NEM 362 and close coupler kinematics, which makes close car transitions and reliable operation possible. The set can be converted for use on Märklin layouts with suitable AC wheel sets (item no. 6560, 40196). The set is designed for direct current operation (DC analog).
