Roco 70180 diesel railcar BR 650, DB AG, Ep. VI Product Details
For operation on less frequented routes, Deutsche Bahn purchased a new commuter railcar from 1999 to replace older designs. The choice fell on the RegioShuttle 1 developed by the company ADtranz, which was designated BR 650 at DB AG. This vehicle type has become established predominantly in southern Germany. The RS 1 is characterized above all by its innovative, trapezoidal window strips. Two diesel engines, each with just under 250 hp, bring the low-floor train to a top speed of 120 km/h. With an unladen mass of 40 tons, the railcar, which seats up to 101 passengers, is rather a lightweight.
Deutsche Bahn's class 650 "Regio Shuttle" diesel railcar.
