SBB is celebrating 175 years of railroads in Switzerland. On August 9, 1847, scheduled passenger services began between Zurich and Baden on the "Spanisch Brötli Bahn". This marked the beginning of the development of the Swiss railroad network. This historic moment in Swiss railroad history is being celebrated with a fitting anniversary program. The Association of Public Transport, SBB, PostBus and the Alliance Swiss Pass have planned a variety of public events in five regions for the celebrations, as well as the official ceremony on August 9, 2022.
