Roco 70727 electric locomotive 193 658-2, SBB Cargo International, Ep. VI w. sound

Since December 2021, SBB has been purchasing locomotives for its Vectron fleet from leasing company MRCE (Mitsui Rail Capital Europe). The new design, which has been given the name "Shadowpiercer", is based on the original Alppiercer design and bears the basic color of the lessor MRCE. Typical of the design from Railcolor is also the naming of the locomotives, which now bear the name and layout of Swiss lakes on all four corners. As the Vectron fleet is equipped with the country packages Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Holland (DACHINL), the purchase of such a locomotive results in an enormous versatility of application areas.

The model from Roco is an excellent reproduction of both the outstanding design and the technical aspects of the locomotive. The paintwork matches that of the original down to the smallest detail. The roof equipment and the running gear are also very detailed and realistically reproduced. Free-standing metal grab rails and various other small details complete the outstanding overall visual impression. On the technical side, the model has an impressive Plux22 digital decoder and many sound functions. The digitally switchable light functions include individually switchable headlights and marker lights, high beam and cab lighting.
