About the model: The class 555.0 steam locomotive is a Czechoslovakian State Railroad model and is from Era III to IV. The locomotive is 265 mm long (length over buffers) and the minimum negotiable radius is 358 mm. The model is driven by 7 axles and 2 are equipped with traction tires. About the prototype: A total of 185 of the German class 52 steam locomotives remained in what was then Czechoslovakia after the war. The locomotives were incorporated into the fleet of the local state railroad CSD as class 555.0. During their years of service and the delivery of further series, some of the heavy locomotives were converted to an oil main firing system, which made work easier for the locomotive crew in particular. The last CSD 555, 555.0259, was taken out of service in 1973. The staff quickly nicknamed the locomotives "Nemka", which translates as "The German" and refers to the origin of the locomotives.
