About the prototype: The class 186 is a multi-system locomotive of the second TRAXX generation from Bombardier. Based on the TRAXX F140 AC2, the four-system locomotive types F140 MS(2e) with additional equipment for the direct current networks with 1.5 kV (Netherlands, France) and 3 kV (Belgium, Poland and Italy) were developed from 2004 onwards, provided the corresponding additional equipment and train protection systems were installed. With an operating weight of 85 tons, they have an output of 5,600 kW. The maximum speed is 140 km/h. The total of 65 locomotives operated by DB AG (DB Cargo, Euro Cargo Rail) can mainly be found in Germany, France and Belgium.
