Roco 7380013 TT diesel locomotive T 478 1209, CSD, Ep. IV Product Details
The Roco diesel locomotive T 478 1209 of the Czechoslovak State Railways (CSD) in Era IV is a model of the 3rd construction series with beaded side walls up to the edge of the roof, painted in red with a yellow front bar.
The T 478.1 series is a diesel-electric universal locomotive. Between 1966 and 1971, 230 series locomotives were built for the CSD at the CKD plant in Prague. This locomotive reached a top speed of 100 km/h, powered by a 6-cylinder turbo engine with an output of 1,500 hp. It was used for international express trains, passenger trains, heavy freight trains and shunting services. The striking projections under the front windows quickly earned it the nickname "Bardotka", inspired by the French actress Brigitte Bardot.
