Description

Roco 7520116 H0 electric locomotive 151 051-0, DB, Ep. IV, AC-sound Product Details

Roco 7520116 H0 DB electric locomotive 151 051-0 with AC sound: Powerful Era IV freight locomotive

The Roco 7520116 H0 electric locomotive 151 051-0 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) is a detailed replica of the class 151, one of the most powerful freight locomotives of its time. With its integrated AC sound, many applied details and digital cab lighting, this model brings the power and elegance of Era IV to any AC model railway layout.

The prototype: The class 151

From 1973, the German Federal Railroad put over 100 class 151 locomotives into service in order to meet the growing demands of heavy freight train traffic. With an output of 5982 kW and a top speed of 120 km/h, this class was one of the most powerful freight locomotives of its time. Its design was based on proven elements of the 110, 140, 150 and 103 series, which increased its reliability and ease of maintenance. Three removable hoods between the driver's cabs enabled quick maintenance and the replacement of larger components.

The 151 was not only used in Germany, but also regularly in Austria, where it proved its worth in cross-border freight traffic.

The railroad company: Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB)

In Era IV, the Deutsche Bundesbahn was a leader in the modernization of rail freight transport. With the introduction of the class 151, it met the requirements for high tractive power and reliability in heavy goods traffic and set new standards for locomotive construction.

Era IV: Progress and efficiency

Era IV (1965-1990) represents the transition from traditional steam locomotives to modern electric and diesel locomotives. Locomotives such as the class 151 played a central role in the expansion of commercial freight transport and represent the technological progress of this era.

Color scheme and design

The Roco 7520116 model impresses with its authentic paintwork in the style of Era IV. Many attached plug-in parts, some using etching technology, and wheels with low wheel flanges ensure a realistic appearance. The digitally switchable driver's cab lighting and the LED headlights with direction-dependent change underline the technical sophistication of this model.

Recommended purchase for model railroaders

The Roco 7520116 H0 electric locomotive 151 051-0 with AC sound is the perfect choice for freight train enthusiasts and model railroaders who want to experience the power and elegance of Era IV on their AC layout. With its innovative functions and detailed design, it is a real highlight.
