Roco 7580002 electric locomotive 146 014-6, DB AG, Ep. VI Product Details
Despite all the efforts to convert to railcars, DB Regio urgently needed modern, high-speed electric locomotives for use in front of double-decker trains at speeds of up to 160 km/h in local transport. For this reason, a special variant of the BR 145 was ordered from the manufacturer Bombardier for local transport, which was classified as the 146 series. The biggest difference to the BR 145 is the hollow shaft drive approved for 160 km/h instead of the tatz bearing drive and the highly visible train destination indicator. A total of 31 locomotives were delivered to DB Regio between 2001 and 2002. Two further series followed later.
