Roco electric locomotive 211 015-3 - TT, DR, Era IV, with sound
The Roco 7590032 represents the electric locomotive 211 015-3 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn in prototypical Era IV. With Next18 interface, sound decoder, fine detailing and, for the first time, switchable engine room lighting, this model authentically brings the flair of the DR era to the TT layout.
Design & finish
The model is presented in the typical DR design with a gray roof and four double fan grilles. The white buffer surround gives the locomotive additional realism. The running gear is finely detailed and the variant has been realized without an Indusi vehicle magnet. Numerous separately applied details and precise lettering round off the high-quality appearance.
Technology & equipment
A 5-pole motor with flywheel mass ensures smooth running characteristics. Four axles are powered, two of which have traction tires for more traction. The lighting includes a 3 headlights / 2 taillights with LED technology that switches depending on the direction of travel. In addition to the sound decoder (Next18), switchable light functions and engine room lighting are also available in digital operation.
Historical background
In the early 1960s, the Deutsche Reichsbahn needed modern electric locomotives for the growing traffic. The LEW Hennigsdorf then developed the E 11 (express train) and E 42 (freight train) series, which were designed for specific applications with different gear ratios. A total of 387 machines were built between 1961 and 1977. The early series from 1962/63, which also included the 211 015-3, were given distinctive four double fan grilles and reinforced frame beading.
Compatibility & possible uses
The locomotive is designed for DC digital operation and is equipped with a modern Next18 interface. It is the ideal train locomotive for the Roco wagon range and is equally suitable for express and freight trains. It looks particularly harmonious when used on DR Era IV layouts.
Purchase arguments & target group
This model is aimed at model railroaders who value authentic DR vehicles with modern digital technology. With sound, engine room lighting and a high level of detail, the 211 015-3 is a highlight for collectors and layout builders.
