Design & workmanship

The model impresses with its fine paintwork in used train/tourist train design, elaborately printed surfaces and a multi-colored engine room. Technology & equipment

The locomotive is powered by a 5-pole motor, supported by a flywheel for smooth running. It has four powered axles, including two traction tires for optimum traction. A Next18 decoder with sound is installed for digital operation. In terms of lighting, the locomotive is equipped with 3 headlights and 2 tail lights (LED) that switch depending on the direction of travel. Additional light functions and engine room lighting can be switched digitally.

Historical background

The class 111 was built between 1974 and 1984 as a further development of the class 110 and was intended to reliably haul express trains and passenger trains in particular. The new design with improved bogies ensured smoother running even at high speeds. Locomotive 111 074 was painted in the tourist train design in 2022 and has been in service with DB Gebrauchtzug for vehicle marketing ever since.
