The aim of the "De Karel" Foundation is to preserve the industrial heritage, with a focus on historical railroad material. This is done not only through maintenance, but also through operation. Operating the train means that it is visibly preserved for Dutch culture. The Karel Foundation also focuses on the preservation of legacies and bequests. All proceeds benefit the preservation of the train set "De Karel", the maintenance of the certificate and the KWF cancer charity.
