Description

Tillig 17181 TT Gedeckter Güterwagen Glmms 64, DB, Ep. III Product Details

Are you looking for a classic covered freight car for your Era III layout in TT scale?

With the Tillig 17181 TT Glmms 64 Covered Freight Car of the Deutsche Bundesbahn, you can add a typical vehicle from the early postwar period to your model railroad layout. This model is ideal for authentic Era III train scenes and perfectly complements any freight train in 1:120 scale.

Based on freight cars from the early days of the Deutsche Bundesbahn

The Glmms 64 was a standardized covered freight car, used in large numbers by the Deutsche Bundesbahn starting in the 1950s. Thanks to its versatility—from general cargo to temperature-sensitive loads—it was an integral part of the Bundesbahn’s daily operations well into the 1970s.

Detailed TT-scale model in Era III style

The model impresses with its true-to-original brown color scheme and precise printing featuring DB lettering in the style of Era III. Finely engraved doors, ventilation slits, and authentic axle bearing details round out the appearance. As a result, the car looks just as convincing in a freight train formation as it does when operated as a single car on a switching module.

Scale and Technical Details

The car is built to TT scale (1:120) and runs on a 12 mm gauge. With a length over buffers of 117 mm, it is one of the larger covered freight cars of this era. Thanks to the NEM-standard coupler mount and close-coupling kinematics, the car can be easily integrated into existing train formations and ensures reliable operation even on more challenging layout configurations.

Ideal for Era III freight trains and shunting operations

Whether in a local freight train with other covered cars, as a single car at the freight shed, or combined with steam locomotives such as the BR 50 or BR 64—the Glmms 64 always cuts a fine figure. An indispensable model for all fans of early DB freight transport.
