Trix 24440 H0 "Rolling Road" Freight Car - RAlpin AG, Era VI for Transit Traffic
The Trix 24440 is a highly detailed Saadkms type freight car as used by RAlpin AG for transit traffic on the "Rolling Road". The model has a quartz gray basic paint scheme and represents the operating condition as of 2018. This wagon is an intermediate wagon and is used to supplement complete train sets for realistic operation in combined freight traffic.
The special feature of this model is its design as a low-floor transport wagon. These vehicles were specially designed to transport complete trucks - including drivers - by rail through the Alps. RAlpin operates such transports on the route from Freiburg (DE) via Switzerland to Novara (IT), thus relieving the roads and reducing CO₂ emissions. This special coupling is included with the model and makes it possible to connect it precisely to other units of the "Rolling Road".
Holding wedges for truck models are included to secure the load so that authentic loading on the wagon can be simulated. Whether as part of a complete train formation or individually as an operational wagon - this model offers numerous possible uses and is a highlight for all fans of modern freight transport.
With a length of 21.4 cm over buffers, the wagon fits harmoniously into existing model railroad sets. The low-floor design with lowered center section not only gives the model a striking appearance, but also exactly reproduces the technical reality of this special form of transport. The car is designed for direct current operation and can optionally be converted with the E363630 alternating current wheel set for Märklin systems.
The Trix 24440 is ideal for model railroaders who want to realistically implement modern Alpine transit traffic on their layout. In combination with matching locomotives and other cars from the "Rolling Road", a harmonious train consist can be put together that is also visually impressive.
