TT-Koch 21618-1 TT DRK X-Ray Unit of the GDR
Would you like to expand your TT layout with an extraordinary and historically significant emergency vehicle? The GDR DRK X-ray Unit brings a special chapter in the history of medical care directly into your model landscape.
The DRK X-ray train was a mobile unit of the German Red Cross in the former GDR. Its mission was to conduct medical examinations—particularly X-ray examinations—in rural and remote regions. In doing so, it made an important contribution to preventive healthcare and early diagnosis. This model faithfully captures this impressive history in meticulous detail.
Comprehensive model with realistic features
The train consists of several precisely replicated components. At its heart is the W 50 Aggregate-Koffer tractor unit. The W 50 base model is injection-molded by Protoy, while the box body is 3D-printed. This combination ensures stability and fine detail.
Trailer 1 is designed as an X-ray car with an integrated darkroom. The undercarriage and wheel sets are injection-molded, while the superstructures are produced using high-resolution SLA 3D printing. As with the real-life model, the windows of the X-ray car and the darkroom are covered from the inside—an authentic detail with high recognition value.
Customizable Interiors
Trailer 2 features a replica lounge, a reception and waiting area, and an examination room with a passageway to Car 1. The interior fittings are removable and can be customized—ideal for model builders with an eye for fine details.
The roof is included separately and is attached with peel-and-stick adhesive after customization. While the windows on this car are not covered, the undercarriage and wheel sets are injection-molded, whereas the interior furnishings and superstructures are produced using high-resolution SLA 3D printing.
New Design Using Modern Manufacturing Technology
This model is a new design, manufactured using additive manufacturing via high-resolution UV resin 3D printing. The included water-slide decals allow for prototypical lettering. Side mirrors and the truck coupling are also included and can be attached individually.
With its unique theme and highly detailed design, the DRK X-ray Train is a real eye-catcher on any TT layout—whether as a mobile medical emergency vehicle or as part of a historical GDR scene.
Add this special model with its historical background to your TT collection and make a striking statement about medical mobility in times past!
