What is striking at first glance are the very small dimensions (18 or 15 cm wide, 3 cm high, depending on the type) and the absence of a heat sink and fan. Thanks to state-of-the-art power electronics - five high-frequency switching regulators for rail outputs and auxiliary voltages - the device does not get hot despite 20 A on the rail and 5 A on the bus.

The ZIMO system also takes into account applications where high currents could cause damage. For example, short circuits on the rail when connected to the MX10 generate fewer sparks than with some weak digital systems thanks to a special circuit.

However, the ZIMO system offers even more than "high performance": the processor, memory and software equipment, as well as high-quality measurement technology, for example for the precise RailCom detectors, many connections and the radio system integrated as standard enable the variety of functions typical of ZIMO.
