Bemo 3288313 H0m Arst 151 Control Car, Golden Pass, Era V–VI – Travel in Style with Scenic Views and History
Are you looking for an impressive control car for your H0m layout with a modern Alpine flair? The Bemo Arst 151 control car from the Golden Pass series combines elegant design, historical significance, and excellent model quality—perfect for discerning model railroaders who love something special.
The Origins of Panoramic Cars on Swiss Narrow-Gauge Railways
The success story of panoramic cars on the Swiss meter-gauge tracks of the Montreux-Berner Oberland Railway (MOB) began as early as 1976. A newly developed observation car with large side windows, skylights, and air conditioning caused a sensation. In 1986, an innovative train concept was introduced with the “Superpanoramic Express”: two control cars and two saloon cars were supplemented by a power car positioned in the center. The highlight: the engineer did not sit in the traditional front position, but in a roof-mounted cab above the passengers—unique in Europe!
1993 – The Arst 151 enters the scene
With the introduction of the Arst 151 and Arst 152 cars, as well as the Bs 251 and Bs 252 middle cars in 1993, the panoramic concept was further perfected. The Arst 151 also featured the elevated driver’s position in the roof-mounted cab—an impressive feature that has been faithfully reproduced in the model. The design not only provided the driver with a perfect view but also gave the train a striking silhouette.
GoldenPass – the golden train for modern times
Starting in 2002, the four Breda Panorama cars, including the Arst 151, were combined with modernized existing cars as part of the “GoldenPass” concept to form a stylish complete train. Gold-colored paint, luxurious amenities, and thoughtful design made these trains the epitome of comfortable narrow-gauge travel. The Ge 4/4 8001–8004 locomotives provided the necessary power on the challenging routes of western Switzerland.
The Perfect Model for H0m Enthusiasts
Built to H0m scale, the Bemo Arst 151 is ideal for meter-gauge layouts. With a length over the buffers of 212.6 mm and a minimum curve radius of over 330 mm, the model is perfectly suited for both high-traffic layouts and winding routes. The generous panoramic windows and the iconic roof cab make the car a real eye-catcher—even in a display case.
A must-have for every Golden Pass train
The Arst 151 is the perfect complement to the other Golden Pass cars, such as the Arst 152 or the Bs 251 and Bs 252 middle cars. Whether as a lead control car or part of a complete train—this model brings elegance, history, and technical sophistication to your H0m layout.
